Italian fashion entrepreneur Ciro Paone is set to be honored at the upcoming edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo. The founder of the luxury ready-to-wear and made-to-measure label Kiton will be the subject of a dedicated exhibition project, with fashion journalist Angelo Flaccavento at the helm as Artistic Director.
The show has been named “Due o tre cose che so di Ciro” (“Two or three things I know about Ciro”).
“We at Pitti Immagine have always found Ciro Paone to be representative of friendliness, elegance, vision, and courage,” says Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine. “He represents the best in contemporary tailoring, and at the same time is one of the most enlightened entrepreneurs in Italian fashion: a history that starts in Naples, and from here, goes on to conquer the world.”
The show will look at Paone’s successful tastes, passions and career, which took off when he founded Kiton in Naples in 1956 alongside Antonio Carola. The brand, which went on to become a global menswear business, is known for its sharp suits, with various lines incorporating vintage fabrics and bespoke Neapolitan tailoring.
Paone is not the only big name to be honored at the 91st edition of the Italian menswear tradeshow — British designer Paul Smith is set to launch his new PS by Paul Smith collection at the event as part of his role as ‘Special Guest’. Designer Tim Coppens, who has been selected as ‘Menswear Guest Designer’, is set to use the opportunity as the European premiere of his Fall/Winter 2017 menswear collection, and Italian lifestyle label Golden Goose Deluxe Brand will be unveiling an installation at the Stazione Leopolda to celebrate 10 years in the sneaker industry.
Pitti Immagine Uomo runs January 10-13 2017 in Florence.
