Tennis superstar Venus Williams is diving further into the fashion world with the release of a women’s casual lifestyle line. Williams already has a line of tennis-focused athletic wear that launched in 2007.
Dubbed Epitome, the line is being released as a capsule, and will feature products similar to EleVen by Venus Williams, her tennis sportswear line. While EleVen is more performance-wear focused, Epitome is a lifestyle line designed for travelling and leisure activities. Pieces include capris, shorts, tops, t-shirts, and light jackets, which draw their inspiration from the line’s mantra: “You’ve done the work, now live!”.
Williams studied fashion design at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale while pursuing her career as an athlete. She currently ranks 6th in the world singles tennis rankings at age 36. Ralph Lauren and Diane von Furstenburg have collaborated with Williams in the past on her court wardrobe. Williams and her sister, Serena, have a made a splash in the media with their on-court style with their choice to forgo the traditional tennis whites in favor of eye-catching outfits.
The capsule collection comprises ten pieces and the designer and athlete hopes to expand it. The collection will be distributed at select luxury resorts, spas, and golf clubs around the world.
